Cancelo, 29, was axed by Pep Guardiola last season and spend the second part of the campaign at Bayern Munich.

He missed out as City romped to a historic Treble, knocking his German side out of the Champions League in the process.

And despite returning to the Etihad this summer, Cancelo has still found himself frozen out of the senior squad.

He’s now closing in on a stunning loan move to Barcelona after rejecting a big-money offer from Saudi Arabia.

And the Arsenal-linked defender moved a step closer to his dream deal after touching down in the Catalan capital on Friday afternoon.

Cancelo was hot on heels of Portugal teammate Joao Felix, who is also set to join Barcelona today.

Atletico Madrid are ready to sanction a loan deal for the playmaker after his fall-out with Diego Simeone.

Felix played for Chelsea during the second half of last season.

But after being sent off on his debut, he struggled to become a regular fixture.

And Mauricio Pochettino rejected the chance to make Felix’s loan permanent when he took over from Frank Lampard in July.

Cancelo and Felix will become Barcelona’s fourth and fifth signings of the summer.

The LaLiga champions landed City’s Ilkay Gundogan and Bilbao’s Inigo Martinez on free transfers.

And they paid just £3m to re-sign former academy star Oriol Romeu from Girona.

They’ve let a host of players go too, with stars like Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann and Franck Kessie completing permanent exits.
