Spain FA boss Luis Rubiales’ uncle blasts him as ‘obsessed with women’ & says family back kissgate victim Jenni Hermoso

FAMILY members of embattled Spanish FA president Luis Rubiales are against him, his uncle says.

Juan Rubiales López blasted his nephew as a “man obsessed with women” – and insisted his relatives were backing Jenni Hermoso.

Disgraced Rubiales has been at the centre of a scandal since his alleged sexual assault kiss with World Cup winner Hermoso.

Rubiales, who may face prosecution, was slapped with a 90-day suspension by FIFA on Saturday.

Now his own uncle Juan has added to the tirade of backlash against him – saying he “needs re-education about women”.

Juan also branded his nephew a “man obsessed with power, luxury, money and even women”.

He also said much of Rubiales’ family are instead backing and “defending Jenni”.

The former journalist told El Confidencial: “I think he needs a social re-education programme and re-education in his relationship with women.”

Juan added that the pair’s relationship became strained when he started working with Rubiales at the Spanish football association.

He said he didn’t like how Rubiales treated staff.

Juan – chief of staff at FA Madrid’s headquarters – was booted out after he alleged Rubiales had organised a “private party” with “eight or ten young girls” and made him pay for it with association funds.

Rubiales always insisted there was no party and that the event was actually for work purposes, but admitted there was a “barbecue with friends”.

Since the kissgate scandal, multiple women have also come forward with accusations ranging from “misogyny to sexual harassment”.

After the infamous kiss went viral, Rubiales initially defended his actions and branded critics as “idiots”.

Rubiales did apologise later, saying: “I’ve no doubt made a mistake and I have to admit it”.

But he then insisted he had no intention of leaving his post amid rampant calls for him to resign.

It comes as Rubiales’ mum was rushed to hospital on Wednesday on the third day of her hunger strike.

Angeles Béjar, 72, had been staging the protest due to the “inhuman treatment” she claims her son is facing in the fallout.

Béjar had locked herself inside the Divina Pastora church in her hometown of Motril, Grenada refusing to leave or to eat.

The current whereabouts of Rubiales are unknown and he has not been seen in public since he shocked the world by refusing to resign at an extraordinary Spanish FA general assembly last Friday.

He has reportedly travelled to Motril for a holiday despite the town hall’s cancellation of a football match he was due to take part in with friends at a municipal stadium for “security reasons.”

Rubiales has insisted the kiss was consensual and that he is the victim of character assassination by “false feminists”.

In a powerful statement, Hermoso said: “I felt vulnerable and a victim of an assault, an impulsive, macho act, out of place and with no type of consent on my part.”
