Maguire, 30, is the subject of interest from West Ham after tumbling down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag.

He was stripped of the United captaincy earlier this summer.

And it remains to be seen if Maguire is still a Red Devil come Friday’s transfer deadline following a new injury blow for Raphael Varane.

However, some supporters were left convinced Maguire had indeed departed the Theatre of Dreams today.

Crawley Town made a big transfer announcement revealing they had made a statement signing.

Indeed, the player revealed by the EFL club did look exactly like Maguire.

But there was a twist, as it turned out to be his brother Laurence instead.

The 26-year-old has joined Crawley on loan from National League outfit Chesterfield for the season.

And fans were left chuckling at the siblings’ likeness to one another.

One said: “Maguire to Crawley Town here we go!”

Another declared: “Jesus he looks exactly like his brother.”

One noted: “Is that Harry Maguire??”

Another added: “Just as good as his brother.”

Laurence has made 150 appearances for Chesterfield following his debut in 2015.

He spent part of 2017 on loan at AFC Fylde, making five appearances.

And he will now be hoping to impress in a higher division, with Crawley Town setting their sights on promotion to League One.
