Inside Harry Kane’s sad Tottenham exit as it’s revealed club legend was BLOCKED from saying goodbye to team-mates

HARRY KANE was BANNED from Tottenham’s training ground just hours before he sealed his £104million move to Bayern Munich, according to reports.

The England captain, 30, left his boyhood club to join the German champions earlier this month.

It brought to an end his 19-year stint with Spurs – which saw him become their all-time record scorer with 280 goals.

Yet despite his legendary status at the club, The Telegraph understand Tottenham sent an email to Kane telling him it would not be appropriate for him to return to the training ground shortly before he flew to Germany.

This meant he was unable to say any face-to-face farewells and could not pick up any of his possessions – meaning he had to wait for them to be sent to him.

Spurs have said Kane was not given any ban and insist he is welcome back any time.

A Tottenham spokesperson said: “Following the agreement of a deal with Bayern Munich, Harry was given permission to travel to Germany and so was not required to train.

“He is expected to return to the club as soon as he can to say his goodbyes. Harry and Daniel [Levy] have exchanged messages including best wishes on the birth of his son, Henry.

“As conveyed publicly, he is regarded fondly by all at the club and is always welcome.”

The striker’s representatives have declined to comment on the matter.

But the report states that Kane communicated a desire to return to training while he waited for a flight to Munich.

He wished to do so in order to prepare for Spurs’ opening Premier League game of the season against Brentford.

In the end, Kane sealed his move away before the match – which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Since his departure, manager Ange Postecoglou and a number of the players are said to have received messages of “thanks and best wishes” from Kane.

And the Spurs legend posted a farewell video to fans as he thanked them for a sensational period at the club.

Kane, who unsuccessfully attempted to force a move to Manchester City in 2021, has scored three goals in two Bundesliga starts since moving to Bayern.

He failed to make an impact off the bench on his debut in a 3-0 defeat to RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup.

But he opened his account in his first Bundesliga game – tucking home with a trademark finish in a 4-0 win away at Werder Bremen.

Then, in his first home game on Sunday, he netted a brace in a 3-1 victory over Augsburg.
