Watch awkward moment coach ‘does a Football Manager’ and ‘storms out’ of live TV interview after uncomfortable question

LEE JOHNSON stormed out of a live TV interview after being asked about his future as Hibernian manager.

The coach is under pressure at the SPL outfit after a 3-2 loss to Livingston saw them rock bottom of the league.

“I hope I get the time to bring the value that I know I can bring to clubs in this situation.”

Hibs have failed to pick up any points from their first three games and they also suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the Conference League play-off.

But after the disappointment against Livingston, Johnson, 42, appeared to be in no mood for chatting.

During his post-match interview with Sky, he insisted that he still believes in the “abilities of the staff and in the players”.

However, he then decided that was that as he started to walk away from the interviewer.

The reporter then got in one more question as they asked: “Do you think you will be manager next week?”

To which Johnson replied: “Oh thank you.”

He then continued to walk away before saying the fans were “brilliant” and that he “loves” them.

The moment has gone viral on social media, with fans comparing it to a feature in the Football Manager computer game.

One tweeted: “He actually pressed the storm out of press conference button.”

A second joked: “I hope he stays too…. Love the comedy value. Class.”

A third commented: “Imagine getting asked if you’ll be in a job next week.”

The former footballer has pleaded with Hibs bosses not to sack him but has admitted that the position of the club is unacceptable.

He said: “I hope they stick with me, I really do, because I want to be here. I’d never throw the towel in.

“I understand there will be fans calling for my head.

“But I genuinely believe that we’ll do it.

“I think we’ve got a good squad, I think we’ve had a few issues – and we’ve got to tidy up our defensive stuff.

“We can still add, don’t forget.

“The window is still open and I’ve been consistent in what I believe we need to add, in house.

“I won’t say that publicly but it’s something I’ve been banging the drum about for some time now – and I’m sure that they’ll do everything they can to help.

“I genuinely do apologise because I didn’t want to start like this.

“I was full of beans – I still am – going into the season and this has caught us out a little bit.

“We’re trying to compete on all fronts and it’s proved to be a little bit too much for us.

“It does happen, and it has happened all over Europe, but it’s not acceptable to have zero points from three games with the teams that we’ve played.”
