I’m fuming over massive Creamfields Festival queues – it took 10 minutes to move just 100 yards

VAST lines of cars queuing down tiny country lanes for a UK music festival have left locals livid.

It took one tractor driver “10 minutes to move just 100 yards” as standstill traffic blocked his route near Daresbury, Cheshire, today.

It transpired the agric had fallen victim to just some of the 70,000 punters descending on Creamfields festival.

Posting his ordeal to TikTok, the Thejewishfarmer sarcastically “thanked” the festival as he filmed idling cars holding up his John Deere.

The electronic dance event – whose headliners include Fat Boy Slim, Calvin Harris and Becky Hill – started on Thursday and finishes on Sunday.

Reading and Leeds Festival also kicked off today.

But music fans hoping to dance away the Bank Holiday under the summer sun set to have their dreams dashed as a vast rain front rolls in off the Atlantic Ocean.

The south west and north west, Wales and Northern Ireland will be the worst hit.

While northern and southern areas of Scotland will also experience heavy downpours.

It comes as an estimated 14 million leisure journeys are expected to be made on Britain’s roads this Bank Holiday.

Over 2.8 million cars are expected to swarm the nation’s tarmac network by the end of Friday – with long queues already forming at key choke points.

The RAC say travel delays will began at around midday as holidaymakers scrambled to tourist favourites Wales, Scotland, the West Country and East Anglia.

Despite Friday’s chaos, the RAC fear Saturday will be the busiest day on the roads, with more than three million journeys being made by Brits.

Sunday will see around 2.3 million drivers hop in the car while Monday is set to be the quietest, with just under two million cars on the roads.

Strikes by the RMT union on Saturday will see 22 train operators running reduced services – with major UK airport links being disrupted.
