We went to the French Center Parcs instead of the UK and we LOVED it – here’s why

A FAMILY who went to the French Center Parcs instead of the UK has revealed why they loved it so much.

Mum-of-two Abi Richards went off with her family and they thoroughly enjoyed their stay at Les Landes de Gacogne resort.

Having a 1-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son the grown-ups understandably didn’t fancy driving and so they flew from London‘s Gatwick Airport to Bordeaux, in the south-west of the country.

The first thing they did, Abi revealed on TIkTok, was to hire a bike for their son, which cost them €27 (23) for the week, with Abi calling that “a pretty good deal”.

Abi then continued by saying they went for a walk on their first evening with the video showing where they were staying and the outside of the centre’s waterslide.

The mum said: “We spent most of our mornings going on a walk to the park.

“They’ve got three parks on site with different activities and then we would go and do a booked activity.

“There is a farm on site and you can go for pony rides, pet the goats and the sheep.

“We also went bowling.

The short clip then shows off the main hub of the centre where the swimming pool is.

In the same area there is a shop along with two restaurants and Abi reveals her and her partner stopped off for a “little cocktail”.

Abi also revealed that once the kids were tucked up in bed, they’d gone off for a go on slides as well.

She revealed though that with all the activities available the highlight of the holiday for her son was driving around in a little vehicle, which she says he was “so good at”.

Abi summing up the holiday  at the end of the clip said: “It was amazing. So much cheaper than the UK.”

Then, responding to a commentator who asked a question, she described the trip as “perfect”.

The clip has become a big hit on the social media site, notching up some 97,400 views along with more than 2,600 likes and dozens of comments.

Abi revealed in the comments that they had a four-bedroom cottage for seven nights in June and they paid just under £1,000 in total for the accommodation.

Many commentators were in full agreement with Abi.

One person wrote: “Half the price compared with the UK is a good reason.”

Another one added: “That looks amazing for the little ones,” and added a heart emoji.

A third said: “Ah, love this. Proper outdoor adventure for the kiddos.”

In July this year Center Parcs revealed they had made a huge change to their booking rules.

The same month the company said it was still going ahead with a sixth holiday park in the UK.

Here’s how a family could save as much as £500 on their Center Parcs break.
