Fans convinced Cristiano Ronaldo called offside on his OWN team-mate but others defend ‘winning mentality’

FANS are convinced Cristiano Ronaldo called offside on his own team-mate Anderson Talisca.

The Brazilian put Al-Nassr in front in stoppage time during their dramatic 4-2 win over Shabab Al-Ahli on Tuesday night.

His goals helped the Saudi side advance to the group stages of the Asian Champions League by winning their play-off tie.

However, fans spotted Ronaldo appearing to appeal for offside after Talisca headed past the opposition goalkeeper.

As his team-mates wheeled away in celebration, Ronaldo could be seen raising his hand in the air and looking in the direction of the assistant referee.

One fan reacted by tweeting: “Ronaldo calling offside on his own team-mate’s last minute goal.”

Another added: “He is so shameless.”

A third also joked: “Lmao he’s checking with the linesman.”

Other supporters came to Ronaldo’s defence, though, arguing it was just his “winning mentality”.

“He is celebrating, what is with all the hate,” wrote one fan. “That is what he always does.”

“He does this anytime his team scores,” commented another.

Meanwhile, a third supporter argued: “That’s the winning mentality.”

The match proved dramatic for Ronaldo, who had lost his cool earlier in the game after a decision went against him.

He was seen screaming in an official’s face during an X-rated rant as he fumed at the decision.

Victory in the Asian Champions League provided a distraction from their league woes for Al-Nassr.

They have so far lost both their matches in the Saudi Pro League this season and are only outside the relegation zone on goal difference.

In addition, Ronaldo is yet to score this term, despite bagging six goals as Al-Nassr won the Arab Club Champions Cup earlier this summer.
