A SPAIN expert has revealed why Brits should never order a pint of beer when on holiday in popular tourist destinations in the country.
Some people enjoy nothing more than a cold pint when on their summer travels, but according to the locals, this isn’t always a great idea.

Instead, Rachel Flanagan, Andalusian Area Manager at Villa Plus, recommends drinking something much smaller, in order to stay refreshed.
She recommends sticking to “cañas” – a smaller beer that won’t be affected by the warm weather and will remain cold.
She told Sun Online Travel: “Never order a pint of beer. It will go warm.
“Just keep getting ‘cañas’ which are small beers..
Rachel also recommended dodging sangria, as well as bars in popular tourist areas.
She continued: “Go down side streets. Never squares and main streets.
“A good tip is to never ask for a sangría.
“Spanish people here don´t drink that. They drink ‘tinto de verano’ which is red wine mixed with gaseosa or cloudy lemonade.”
Finally, Rachel told people that they never end up ordering the right size meal if they want to experience a proper Spanish dinner.
She recommends a certain size of plate that would enable everyone at the table enjoy a bite.
She said: “When ordering tapas, order ‘media ración’ of whatever you want to share.
“It will come on a plate with enough for three or four people to have a tapa of it.”
It’s not just the wrong bars and streets tourists go to either, with some also going to the wrong beaches.
Joanne Ryan, the Balearic Islands Area Manager at Villa Plus recommends renting a car to really find the best places to go, particularly in Mallorca.
She added: “For the quieter spots on the island, step away from the coastline resorts and delve into the inner villages to experience the Real Mallorca.
“There are more than 260 beaches on Mallorca, be adventurous and hire a car and be ready to walk along the coast line to find hidden coves with azure waters, fine sands and often not a soul in sight.”
Brits regularly make mistakes that they shouldn’t whenever they visit Spain.

Newly-published guidance for people heading to Spain warns: “For those who like to drink to excess and then sleep it off on the beach, think again.
“In many regions, spending the night sleeping on the beach or camping on the beach is completely forbidden and in areas such as Valencia could result in a fine of up to €1,500 (£1,283).”
