Plane passenger slammed for ‘disgusting’ behaviour during flight that’s left people grossed out

A PASSENGER has been shamed online for their “disgusting” and “gross” behaviour during a flight.

Planes are difficult places to get cosy, forcing people to try unusual tactics to get more comfortable.

One passenger crossed the line recently when they plonked their bare foot on an armrest for the duration of their flight.

Another holidaymaker shared a picture of the incident on the “I’m The Main Character” topic page on Reddit.

They wrote: “This was a 3-hour flight and he kept those puppies up the whole time.”

Despite not being able to see the passenger’s face, users on Reddit were quick to slam their behaviour in the thread.

One person wrote: “It’s disgusting behaviour.”

Another added: “Some people are raised by wolves.”

A third said: “This is why I dislike summer. Because I am having to look at everyone’s nasty, or just plain, weird feet. It’s gross.”

Sadly, this isn’t the first time that someone has put their bare foot on a passenger’s armrest.

Last year, a traveller was left horrified after another flyer shoved their bare feet into their seat during a flight.

This time the action divided views online, but most found it to be pretty disgusting.

Getting bare feet out during a flight isn’t only considered gross by most passengers, but it can also be unhygienic and dangerous.

Etiquette expert and author, Jacqueline Whitmore told Sun Online that, although it may be tempting to remove your shoes and get comfortable on a long flight, you should never be barefoot.

She said: “I think for sanitary and safety reasons, you should either pack some slippers or at least a pair of socks. Don’t walk around the plane barefoot.”

Sun Online Travel’s resident flight attendant revealed why it could be dangerous for others too.

They wrote in their weekly blog: “When the plane is shaking violently as it sometimes does during turbulent spells, items that aren’t properly stowed or secured can very quickly become projectiles.

So think about that before you take your shoes off on your next flight. Not only are your feet annoying others on board, but you could also end up getting a trainer to the face if you encounter some bad turbulence.”

Meanwhile, podiatrist Ebonie Vincent said that being barefoot leaves travellers exposed to bad bacteria.

And this woman revealed a clever trick to remove a passenger’s bare feet from her seat.
