Laporte, 29, lost his place in the City squad last season with Pep Guardiola preferring Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake.
The Spain international was limited to just 12 Premier League appearances.
City have since signed Josko Gvardiol, splashing out a world record fee to land the £78million centre-back.
That has pushed Laporte further down the pecking order although he did make a substitute appearance in the 3-0 win over Burnley last Friday.
Laporte has two years remaining on his contract so this is perhaps the last summer City will be able to cash in on the defender for a big sum.
Al-Nassr have focused on signing big-name players since bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo last January.
Sadio Mane, Marcelo Brozovic, Seko Fofana and Alex Telles have all joined this summer.
