The line-up for Bluesfest 2024 is set to be announced and Nine’s Entertainment Editor Richard Wilkins has exclusively revealed that the headlining act has That Wonderful Sound.
It’s Not Unusual for the headlining act to be teased before the entire list of acts is announced but according to Dickie, the particular act is set to be Burning Down The House with his velvety vocals.

If you haven’t caught on yet, Dickie seems to be alluding that Sir Tom Jones will be one of the major acts at next year’s Bluesfest which is set to take place from 28 March – 1 April 2024.

“Tomorrow the line-up for Bluesfest will be announced, but I can reveal this morning…that It’s Not Unusual to have a surprise guest to sit on the Green Green Grass,” Dickie teased on Today Extra.
David Campbell incorrectly, and cheekily, guessed the Talking Heads after co-host Sylvia Jeffreys made reference to Burning Down The House which Jones covered along with Swedish pop band the Cardigans for his 1999 record, Reload.
In response to this, Dickie told Campbell to “ask Delilah“.

Last time musical shapeshifter performed in Australia was to headline the 2016 Bluesfest. Jones then embarked on a short tour of all of the country’s capital cities singing over 50 hits from his stellar career.
The official Facebook page also teased that they would be dropping the name of next year’s first big artist tomorrow morning at 5am.
Keen festival-goers have also guessed besides Tom Jones that ’90s singing sensation Alanis Morrissette may also join the crooner on stage next year.

This year’s Bluesfest, which ran from 6 April – 10 April, included sets from icons such as Elvis Costello, The Doobie Brothers and Beck.
Dickie revealed on Today Extra this morning that he will have the full list of Bluesfest acts tomorrow morning for eager lovers of the iconic Byron Bay festival.
