Mysterious radio signals from three billion lights years away could be from aliens, scientists reveal

MYSTERIOUS radio signals from three billion lights years away could be from an alien technology, scientists say.

Known as Fast Radio Bursts, they only last a millisecond and each pulse carries as much energy as our sun emits in a century.

UniversalScientists have suggested that Fast Burst Radio from 3 billion light years away may have been generated by extra terrestrials[/caption]

It has been suggested the flashes may be generated by extra terrestrials — like in the 1982 movie E.T. — and could be messages or even a way to power space craft.

Another theory is they come from an exploding black hole or star.

FRB 20190520B — only the second repeating example to have been detected with 113 bursts — is being studied by an international team.

The experts in China, the US and Australia also discovered that magnetic fields twist around the FRBs — possibly due a “turbulent, magnetised screen of plasma”.

The likely scenario for producing such a mess includes the signal passing through the halo of a companion, be it a blackhole or a massive star with winds.

Understanding drastic changes in the magnetised environment around the FRB is an important step toward understanding the origin of such cosmic explosions.

The study is in the journal Science.
