A clip of the little-known gizmo in action was uploaded to TikTok, leaving viewers amazed.
Canadian motorist Ally posted the footage of her 2013 Mini Cooper demonstrating the nifty trick.
The video shows a small, chrome rod extending out of the corner of her headlamp.
The rod acts like a sprinkler head, dousing the bulb with a spurt of water before retracting back into its slot, making it all but invisible.
A block of text across the screen read: “I’ve had my car for six years and never knew it could do this.”
In the caption, Ally added: “I get excited by the littlest things.”
Social media commenters were baffled by the unique device.
One wrote: “How? I have the same car.”
Another asked: “What button does this?”
However, a third joked: “My first car did that but it was broken so it would spray out and I used to drive around and spray people walking.
