Leandro De Niro’s cause of death has been revealed.
The New York City Medical Examiner reported the grandson of actor Robert De Niro died from a “toxic” combination of illicit drugs, as per Page Six.
The autopsy report revealed that at the time of his death – which was ruled an “accident” – the 19-year-old’s system was infiltrated by a cocktail of drugs.

Prior to the results, an arrest was also made in relation to the teen’s overdose and the woman arrested claims she warned him about the fentanyl-laced pills she’s believed to have sold him.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by the outlet, texts between the accused and Leandro show the pair talking about the purchase of counterfeit oxycodone and Xanax just days before his death.
“Do you r[eal]ly need them … I [don’t] wanna kill u,” the accused noted in one text. “I j[ust] don’t like serving u them cuz they not script.”
Leandro’s death was originally announced by the his mother Drena De Niro on July 2.

Drena, 51, who is the Oscar winner’s daughter with ex Diahnne Abbott, shared the tragic news about her young son on Instagram.
“My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly. You have been joy [in] my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life,” Drena shared in her tribute, alongside a photo of her late son.
“I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you. I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama,” she continued.
“You were so deeply loved and appreciated and I wish that love alone could have saved you 😞 I’m so sorry my baby, I’m so sorry @carlosmare 😢💔. Rest in Peace and Eternal Paradise my darling boy.”
