BRITISH TV star Jon Richardson claims to have worked out a clever theme park hack for parents hoping to keep their kids happy this summer.
A day out on the rides isn’t always enough for youngsters, with some keen to bring home a souvenir from their day out at the fair.

Comedian Richardson, from 8 Out of 10 Cats, Taskmaster and Meet the Richardsons, revealed the clever way in which he was able to win a giant teddy for his daughter during a recent trip to Alton Towers.
Despite performing “awfully” on one of the games, the entertainer was still able to bag a prize for his kid, simply by arriving early.
On his podcast Down the Dog, he told co-host, comedian and impersonator Matt Forde, how getting to the games first can increase a guest’s chances of winning.
He said: “I said to my daughter, ‘if we get in there early, and we find a stall that’s in a corner of the park, where there’s not a lot of traffic…if we’re the first ones on there, I reckon they’ll give us a big teddy’.
“They know that if people walk around the park all day with a big teddy, it suggests to other people that the toys are winnable and then they make more profit through the day.
“Sure enough, we walked to the back of the park, to the basketball game, he said, ‘if you buy five balls, I’ll give you a big teddy anyway’.
“Ten minutes later, having missed awfully, I’m walking around with a giant Yoshi.”
Richardson suggests that the key to the hack is finding a stall that’s a bit hidden away and might not get as many visitors as other games in more prominent locations.
He also said it has to be done when no one else is around.
He continued: “I don’t know if I’m allowed to say this, or put this on record, but if you want to win a big teddy, get yourself to the corner of the park.
“They can’t let you do it when there’s other people watching, so find yourself a quiet vendor. I reckon that works on all fairgrounds, all across the world. I’ve seen it done before.
“We’re in the park from 10am until 4pm, walking around with a giant teddy. If you walk around for six hours holding a big teddy, how many people walk past you and think, ‘I want to win one of those’?”

Being an early bird can’t only win park guests prizes, but it can also help them skip queues as well.
Oliver Brendon, CEO of AttractionTickets.com shared some of his tips on how to skip queues at theme parks and he recommended simply getting there first.
Oliver said: “Whilst it may sound obvious, the quietest times to avoid ride queues are the first 60 to 90 minutes of the day.
“If you buy your tickets online and get there early, you’ll benefit from the extra time when the gates open.”
For guests who can’t make it early, Oliver pointed out other times during the day when rides are likely to be quieter.
He added: “Come lunchtime, there’s likely to be a bigger queue for your food than there is for the rides.
“If you can plan an early lunch, or bring snacks and take a later break, this is the perfect time to head to some of the most popular rides which tend to have queues all day long.”
