YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul was the bookies’ favourite to win the crossover clash, but that didn’t stop Drizzy from staking a staggering $250,000 bet on Diaz.
Drake shared his pre-fight wager on his Instagram story, writing: “Jake is a dog but I can never bet against a Diaz brother.
“That’s just how I was raised.”
The Canadian stood to make a cool $1m off his bet, although Paul well and truly scuppered the massive wager.
Former Disney star Paul vowed to make Drake rip up his virtual betting slip after getting wind of the wager.
Along with a mock-up poster of himself holding Diaz’s severed and bruised head, he wrote on his Instagram story: “Drake losing his bet.”
Paul, 26, knocked MMA fan favourite Diaz down in the fifth round on his route to a unanimous decision victory.
In his post-fight interview, he said: “I knocked him down, won basically every round.

“I had him hurt in the first round, he kept on coming.
“All credit to my team, my conditioning, going ten rounds in my eighth fight, it’s unheard of.
“I’ve only been boxing for three years, he’s a UFC legend, I was watching this kid growing up.”
