Bayern have already had two bids turned down for Kane this summer, with the most recent being worth around £69million.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, today’s meeting will be “crucial” in determining the striker’s future.

Kane, who turned 30 last Friday, has one year remaining on his Spurs contract and has shown no indication that he will sign a new one.

He has not agitated for a move this summer and attended Tottenham’s pre-season tour of Australia, Thailand and Singapore.

But he is believed to be interested in a move to Bayern, should they agree a deal with Spurs.

The Bundesliga champions’ honorary president Uli Hoeness enraged Tottenham earlier this month with his comments regarding Kane.

The 71-year-old confidently proclaimed to Sport1: “Harry Kane has clearly signalled in all conversations that his decision stands – and if he keeps to his word, then we’ll get him, because then Tottenham will have to buckle.

“Kane wants to play internationally and luckily for us Tottenham will not be active internationally next year.”

Bayern bosses have since rowed back from Hoeness’ comments, with chairman Herbert Hainer insisting: “We respect Daniel Levy as professional.”

Hainer, 69, added that adding Kane would be huge for the Bundesliga.

He said: “I think the Bundesliga doesn’t have that many international stars anymore.

“That contributes to how the Bundesliga is marketed internationally. FC Bayern always tries to get international stars to make us and the Bundesliga better.

“Harry Kane is definitely a highly attractive player, England national team captain, top scorer. He would be good for us and the Bundesliga.”

Tottenham are reportedly demanding £90m for their all-time leading goalscorer.

But reports on Friday suggested that Bayern are confident that the North Londoners will lower their demands.

Club bosses are expected to table a £75m bid for Kane, confident that Spurs will meet them halfway.

According to The Telegraph, Bayern could sell wonderkid Mathys Tel to Tottenham to sweeten a potential deal for Kane.

Tel, 18, bagged six goals last season and has been likened to a young Kylian Mbappe.
