And it goes without saying that many holidaymakers will be taking the chance to check into a hotel.
Melissa Hanks used to manage hotels and knows the best tips to make the most of your stay.
The TikTok creator – known as Melly – often posts helpful tips and advice to travellers seeking out valuable bargains.
In a recent video on TikTok, the former hotel manager revealed why guests should come down to breakfast earlier rather than later.
She said: “If you’re an early riser and you get there within 30 minutes of the breakfast being made, I’d say everything is fair game.”
Melissa says that the best time to get to the buffet is as early as possible because that is when food and drink are freshest.
Giving a professional insight into different types of food the TikToker said: “Scrambled eggs are usually out of a carton, in liquid form.
“My go to is usually the cereal.
“In particular I always enjoy the make your own waffle station.”
And Melly said that if you come down later than many food items on offer are not at their best.
Posting footage of one hotel she was reviewing, the TikToker said: “We came down at 9.30 and breakfast starts at 7am.
“Clearly this milk’s been sitting there with no way to keep it cold.
“That will make someone sick.”
Meanwhile Melly branded the cereal holders “disgusting” after saying they had not been cleaned in a while.
As always TikTokers were quick to weigh in with their opinions in the comments section.
One wrote: “My boyfriend and I stay up late to get the breakfast as soon as they open then sleep till noon.”
Another user said: “I work hotel breakfast where I am. we keep our milk in our fridge, our eggs usually go pretty fast on the weekends so they are usually always fresh.”
But some viewers said they would eat anything regardless and actually enjoyed hotel breakfasts.
A TikToker added: “I eat everything!! It’s free I’m not picky!! I never got sick from that!!”
“Hotels got the best waffles I got a waffle maker at home and it’s just not the same,” said a viewer.
Meanwhile, a hotel cleaner revealed the five items they never clean in the rooms.
And a former hotel housekeeper said guests should be tipping at least £7.50 a night for their work.
