Man Utd wonderkid Kobbie Mainoo OUT of ‘first part’ of season forcing Ten Hag to step up transfer for new midfielder

MANCHESTER UNITED rising star Kobbie Mainoo has been ruled out for the “first part” of the season.

The Stockport youngster, 18, suffered an ankle injury against Real Madrid in pre-season.

The promising midfield clashed with Rodrygo just three minutes into the friendly and he was spotted on crutches and in a protective boot.

And it is bad news for the teenager as he has been sidelined in a huge blow just as he was beginning to break into Erik ten Hag’s first team at Old Trafford.

It also means the Old Trafford boss will step up his search for a new midfielder to bring in before the transfer window closes.
