Henderson posed in his new club’s green kit and he has been given a surprise squad number.

He will wear the No10 shirt in Saudi Arabia.

The former Liverpool captain wore the No14 at Anfield during all 12 years he spent at the club.

He has also worn the No8 regularly for England.

Henderson could not take the No14 as it is already taken by Darko Velkovski and the No8 is worn by Hamed Al-Ghamdi.

However, it is not his first time pulling on a kit with No10 on the back as it was his shirt during his final season at Sunderland before he joined Liverpool.

Henderson has signed a three-year deal at Al-Ettifaq and is set to earn a whopping £700,000-a-week.

It will make him the best-paid English footballer ever and he will pocket £36million should he see out his contract in Dammam.

Liverpool have reportedly earned £12million by selling their skipper.

Al-Ettifaq finished seventh in last year’s Pro League table and have signed Jack Hendry from Club Brugge and Moussa Dembele from Lyon so far this summer.

Henderson joins Liverpool team-mate Roberto Firmino in Saudi, who has signed for Al-Ahli.

And midfield partner Fabinho is close to sealing a switch to Al-Ittihad.
