Who owns Al Hilal?
Al Hilal SFC is owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
84 PIF companies have been created, covering 13 sectors which has created over 500,000 jobs directly or indirectly.
PIF bought 75 per cent stakes in Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal earlier this year as part of their newly launched Sports Clubs Investment and Privatisation Project.
The project aims to encourage private investment within the sports sector, especially within football.
The remaining 25 per cent of these clubs is controlled by a non-profit organisation.
Each club board has seven members, five of which are appointed by PIF and the other two are elected by the non-profit organisation.
PIF took over Newcastle United FC in 2021 and owns 80 per cent of the club.
Al-Nassr hit the headlines earlier this year when Cristiano Ronaldo was signed to the team.
