Man Utd transfer blow as PSG look to hijack Rasmus Hojlund deal and will offer wonderkid striker in swap

MANCHESTER UNITED’s move for wonderkid Rasmus Hojlund has been hijacked by PSG, according to reports.

United have been linked with a move for the striker, 20, throughout the summer after they saw their interest in Harry Kane fall rebuffed by Tottenham.

But PSG look to have stolen a march on the forward, with the French club now in negotiations with Atalanta for Hojlund’s signature according to The Daily Mail.

United have reportedly agreed personal terms with Hojlund – but were knocked back by Atalanta‘s hefty £86million valuation.

PSG, who may face financial issues of their own should Kylian Mbappe leave on a free, are prepared to meet the valuation through other means to secure Hojlund.

According to RMC Sport’s Sacha Tavolieri, the Parisian club are willing to include highly rated youngster Hugo Ekitike in a deal for Hojlund.

Atalanta are already admirers of Ektike, and were planning on making an offer for him should Hojlund leave Bergamo this summer.

United had previously also tried to include players in a deal for Hojlund but were knocked back by Atalanta.

The Red Devils’ had offered both Mason Greenwood and Fred as part of any deal for the Dane but Atalanta were not interested.

PSG have stepped up their search for a striker as it now looks clear that star-man Mbappe will leave the club.

They have considered a move for Tottenham‘s Harry Kane and looked close to a deal for Dusan Vlahovic last week.

However, any move for Vlahovic has been complicated by the reaction of the club’s ultras to his prospective signing.

Vlahovic has been pictured making a political three fingered salute in the past when playing for his native Serbia.

And PSG ultras recently protested outside the stadium with a banner threatening to “cut off” the forward’s fingers were he to sign for PSG.

PSG President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has made his stance on Mbappe clear, saying: “We want him to stay but he can’t leave for free.” at manager Luis Enrique‘s unveiling.
