But the TikTok user – who goes by the username @conggeshuoche – insisted that wipers can actually be really helpful when parallel parking your car.
The car expert said: “First when parking on the side, keep an eye on the knuckles of the wiper.”
Cong films himself turning right before slowly straightening out – only doing so once the wiper’s knuckle can be seen in line with the curb.
This manoeuvre should land you less than 30 centimetres from the curb instead of contacting the area and scraping your wheel.
The video has gone viral on TikTok with more than 50,000 likes and 198 comments.

Another commented: “Very cool.”
A third pointed out: “Thanks, bro, for teaching us.”
A fourth pointed out: “I learned the knuckle parking tip in 1997. Works great!”
And it’s not the only hack that will help you parallel park perfectly each time.
PERFECTLY PARKED
One parking guru revealed it’s only when the mirrors of your car are aligned with the car next to it that you should reverse.
She explains: “When the mirrors of the car are aligned with the car next to it, put in reverse gear, turn the steering wheel all the way to the right and reverse the car.
“When you see all the headlights of the car behind you, in the left rear view mirror, turn the steering wheel back upright and reverse the car.
“When you see the door handle and the curve intersecting in the right rear view mirror, turn the steering wheel fully to the left, and you can park in the parking space smoothly.”
This comes after a mechanic with more than 55 years of experience revealed what to do when bizarre lights start to flash in your car.
Plus, a driver was left horrified after a stranger scrawled a rude message on their car, but people were divided.
