Lindsay Lohan and Bader Shammas welcome first child together

Lindsay Lohan is officially a mum to a baby boy!

The actress has given birth to her and husband Bader Shammas’ first child, a boy named Luai, according to a representative who told Page Six.

“The family is over the moon in love,” her representative said in a statement on Monday.

The baby was born in Dubai where Lohan and Shammas currently live. The name Laui is an Arabic name that loosely translates to a “strong and steady person” and also “shield or protector”.

Lohan, 37, announced that she and her husband of one year were expecting their first child together back in March via an Instagram post and later confirmed they were having a boy.

In the post, Lohan uploaded a picture of a newborn onesie that said “coming soon” on it.

“We are blessed and excited,” The Parent Trap actress wrote under the post.

Lohan had opened up about the possibility of having children in an interview last year saying that “I want to have kids,” and had “talked” to Shammas about whether they would live in Dubai as parents.

“It’s so safe there, and the schools are great. It’s so detached from everything that I’m used to. … It’s nice to have a separate world that’s my own.”

More recently, Lohan has opened up about the impending reality of motherhood in an interview with Allure.

“It’s overwhelming in a good way,” Lohan told Allure Magazine posing for their June cover cradling her baby bump.

“I can’t wait to see what the feeling is and what it’s like to just be a mom,” she says.

The actress also added that she has always felt a maternal instinct being the eldest of her siblings but the unknown of motherhood is a little scary.

Lohan and Shammas first went public with their relationship back in February 2020. About a year and a half later, Shammas got down on one knee and proposed to the actress. The couple then wed in an intimate ceremony in April of last year but only released information of the nuptials later in July.
