Man Utd closing in on Andre Onana transfer with Dean Henderson set to be sold to Premier League rivals

MANCHESTER UNITED are reportedly closing in on the signing of Andre Onana with Dean Henderson set to be sold to Nottingham Forest.

Onana, 27, is set to pen a long-term deal to become David de Gea’s replacement at Old Trafford.

United will pay £47million to Inter Milan to reunite Onana with former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag.

And Inter will bank a tasty profit in the process, having snapped up the Cameroonian stopper on a free transfer just one year ago.

He is expected to pen a five-year contract, which is being thrashed out today.

Journalist David Ornstein tweeted an update on the situation that read: “Man Utd set to agree personal terms with Inter Milan GK Andre Onana today + transfer fee very close to being finalising. 27yo expected to sign 5yr deal & hope is he flies with #MUFC squad to NYC on Weds for tour.”

And talkSPORT went even further, claiming that the transfer will be done and dusted with the next day.

They tweeted: “The deal to sign Andre Onana is now set to be sealed in the next 24 hours to allow him to join #MUFC on the US tour.”

They then added that sources had informed them that “Henderson is then expected to be sold to Nottingham Forest”, although no fee was mentioned.

The 26-year-old Henderson spent last season on loan at Forest after a fall-out with the Red Devils.

Now he is being heavily linked with a permanent move to the City Ground after recovering from the thigh surgery that ruled him out for the last few months of the campaign.

Henderson recently claimed that he “p***ed off the Dutch manager” and believes “he is not in line for a comeback” as he revealed he did not want Ten Hag to see him training as he believed the boss would want to keep him.

He told talkSPORT: “I told all the hierarchy: ‘I need to go and play football. I don’t want to be playing second fiddle.’

“And it panned out so I was almost gone before the manager came in.”

Henderson kept 13 clean sheets in 29 appearances for United and is under contract until 2025.
