Lisa Marie Presley’s cause of death revealed six months after sudden death aged 54

Lisa Marie Presley‘s cause of death has been confirmed, with records from the LA County Coroner’s Office showing she died from complications from a small bowel obstruction.

The report also confirmed her manner of death was natural, via Rolling Stone.

This news comes six months after the star’s sudden death aged 54, which sent shockwaves around the world.

“The obstruction was in the form of a strangulated small bowel caused by adhesions that developed after bariatric surgery years ago,” deputy medical examiner Juan M. Carillo said in the report, via Us Weekly.

According to the report, Lisa Marie complained of abdominal pain hours before she was found unresponsive in her home in Calabasas, California.

The only child of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley was then rushed to hospital, where she was found to have “a severely distended abdomen” and “severe metabolic acidosis”.

She died of natural causes after suffering cardiac arrest on January 12, 2023.

An autopsy after her death found that Lisa Marie had ”therapeutic levels of oxycodone” in her blood, as well as quetiapine metabolite along with buprenorphine”, however these did not contribute to her death.

Lisa Marie’s mother Priscilla, 78, confirmed the news of her daughter’s passing in a statement to People on January 12.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” she saidPeople at the time.

“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
