A WOMAN has revealed a clever way to avoid paying for Ryanair’s luggage fees – while still travelling with a bag.
Ryanair has some of the strictest hand luggage rules, only allowing a 20cm x 25cm x 40cm bag for free into the cabin.

Brit Mary Quinton had booked a holiday to Portugal, flying out with Jet2 from London Stansted.
However, while she was given a suitcase with Jet2, she realised her flights back were with Ryanair.
And due to the strict rules, she would have to pay £39.99 for her suitcase to come back.
She explained to The Sun: “My bag and contents were too big for Ryanair.
“I was horrified that it would cost me £39.99 to bring my cabin bag back to the UK from Faro.”
So instead of paying the fee, she opted to send her luggage home – and saved £23.
She continued: “Rather than pay them £39.99 to bring on a larger cabin bag, I took the contents of it to a Portuguese post office and had it sent home from there instead.”
The box weighed 1.4kg, and had to pay €17.80 (£15.38) – meaning she saved more than £20.

She admitted it isn’t for anything valuable as she didn’t insure it, so was mainly her shoes, towels and clothes.
However it was ideal when returning home without wanting to pay the fees.
She added: “The package arrived at home 10 days later, and meant I could travel with just my handbag on the flight.”
“I already had to pay €10 extra to print out my Ryanair boarding card, but I managed to avoid the fee and not have to drag my suitcase back by hand.”
Mary isn’t the first person to try this.
Earlier this, TikTok user Faith posted her luggage to her hotel room rather than forking out for a checked bag.
She said in the video: “Let’s see how much it is to ship my luggage to Florida versus paying $150 [£121] to Spirit Airlines.”
Adding all her belongings to the box, including her clothes and toiletries, she then put the hotel address on it.
She said it cost just $34.33 [£27.70] to post the box – a saving of $115 [£92.78].
However, sending your luggage this way comes with a risk, she later said – as there was no one at the hotel to sign for it when it was being delivered.
