Stepan Simek is from Czechia and plays tennis like his wife, Marketa Vondrousova.
He does not appear to play professionally.
He features on her Instagram page as far back as 2017, when Marketa posted snaps of the pair at the London Eye during Wimbledon.
Unfortunately Marketa exited the singles in the first round at only her second Grand Slam, but made it through to the quarter finals in the doubles.
The couple regularly post pictures of each other on their social media.
In the photos, Stepan towers over Marketa who stands at 6ft 8 inches.
Marketa was born in Prague on June 28, 1999, to David Vondrous and Jindriska Anderlova.
She was introduced to tennis by her father and played her Grand Slam championship debut at the French Open in 2017.
She reached the final of the French two years later, becoming the first teenager to achieve that feat since Ana Ivanovic in 2007.
In 2023, she made it through to the semi-finals of Wimbledon and will play Ukrainian Elina Svitolina.
As of July 2023, she is ranked 42 in the world.
Her highest ever ranking was at No14 in 2019.
Marketa also won the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics losing to Belinda Bencic in the final.
It was at this time that Stepan proposed – and she accepted.

Marketa and Stepan were married on July 16, 2022.
Marketa uploaded photos from their wedding captioning it “Šimkovi”.
She later updated her name to Marketa Šimková, taking the feminine version of her husband’s last name.

Currently, the couple do not have any children.
