Singer Drake is hit by a flying phone during his concert in Chicago

Drake has become the latest celebrity to be pelted by an object on stage – joining a slew of performers who have become victims of an increasingly disturbing trend.

Drake, 36, kicked off his It’s All a Blur tour in Chicago overnight when he was hit by a mobile phone that was thrown onto the stage from the crowd.

The rapper was singing a cover of the Ginuwine song, So Anxious, when a phone flew on stage and struck Drake in the wrist.

The phone didn’t appear to injure the rapper who continued on singing unfazed.

Shortly after, videos capturing the incident quickly did the rounds on social media and commenters expressed their vehement distaste for concert-goers who are flinging items on stage and at artists.

“Fans need to stop this,” one disappointed fan expressed under a clip of the incident.

“These people are going to ruin concerts for everyone,” a third added.

The singer immediately clutched her face in pain before abruptly handing her guitar to the stage crew before running off.

She later returned to the stage to finish the show and went on Instagram to deplore people for throwing things on stage.
