Man Utd ‘finding it hard to sell Harry Maguire’ due to hidden contract clause with Ten Hag desperate for transfer funds

MANCHESTER UNITED are finding it hard to sell Harry Maguire due to a hidden clause in his contract, according to reports.

The Red Devils are looking to sell several players in order to raise funds for summer spending.

Man Utd finished third in the Premier League to secure Champions League qualification for next season.

This led to Maguire earning a “considerable” wage increase.

And the Guardian claim his salary boost has made him more difficult to move on as he would now have to take a pay-cut.

The 30-year-old’s contract runs until 2025 and it contains an option for a further year.

Maguire is reportedly a target for West Ham, Tottenham and Newcastle.

He cost Man Utd a huge £80million when he arrived from Leicester in 2019.

But they are now looking to sell for a much lower price after he lost his spot in the team under Erik ten Hag.

Maguire played 31 times last season but just eight of those were Premier League starts.

Meanwhile, England boss Gareth Southgate has supposedly expressed concern about his lack of playing time with Euro 2024 set for the end of the approaching season.

Man Utd could sell stars like Fred, Donny van de Beek, Anthony Elanga and Dean Henderson as well as Maguire this summer.

Jadon Sancho has also been linked with a switch back to Borussia Dortmund.
