MMA legend Alistar Overeem has revealed the reason behind his shocking weight loss.
The former UFC heavyweight title challenger’s drastically shrunken physique went viral in the MMA world last month.

Overeem, 43, sported one of the biggest and most defined physiques in the history of mixed martial arts during his early UFC run.
Fight fans were left stunned after getting a glimpse of Overeem’s lean and mean frame, which was the result of him ditching meat after a new nutritionist told him it was full of “PARASITES“.
During an appearance on Lovin Dubai, The Demolition Man said: “I started doing detoxing. I have this special nutritionist.
“When I met him, I instantly knew this guy has knowledge.
“So we started working and I started taking these supplements — spirulina, coralline and kelp — every morning in a reasonably high dosage.
“And after a couple of weeks, my diet, my appetite changed.”
“‘You had parasites in your body,’” Overeem recalled his new nutritionist telling him.
“This creates an alkaline environment which these parasites do not like.

“They will get hurt and die off. And once you get rid of them, your tastes change.”
Overeem claims the “parasites” he used to have in his body influenced him to continue eating meat.
The 2010 K-1 Grand Prix winner continued: “It’s not me who needs to eat meat, it’s the parasites that influence me.
“They work through me to make me think I want to eat meat, but it’s not me and once you get rid of them, you don’t care.
“If I eat meat, yes it’s delicious, but then these parasites come in my system.
“They’re gonna move around and do their thing and then all the other things will become less healthy. This [bag of nuts] doesn’t create acidity. Meat does, sugar does.”

Fan favourite Overeem was released from the UFC in March 2021 following a second-round TKO defeat to Alexander Volkov.
The Reem returned to the kickboxing world last October for a trilogy fight against Badr Hari at GLORY: Collision 4.
Overeem won the contest via decision but failed a post-fight drug test, which resulted in the result being overturned to a No Contest and him being slapped with a one-year suspension.
And the Dutchman’s lifestyle change has coincided with him calling time on his long and decorated fight career.
He said: “This actually ties into what I want to do, because I actually just decided to stop fighting. This is not my thing anymore.
“It’s been 25 years, right? We’re going to do other cool stuff now.”
