How Tottenham could line up WITHOUT Harry Kane under Ange Postecoglou with James Maddison and new defence

TOTTENHAM could be a very different outfit next season with new boss Ange Postecoglou taking charge.

The North London club have already started their business for the summer window as they hope to claw themselves back into European contention.

Harry Kane could be on his way out of Tottenham with interest from Bayern Munich

New manager Ange Postecoglou will have lot of work to do if Kane is to leave

Spurs had a torrid time last season, finishing eighth in the Premier League and missing out on Europe for the first time since 2008/09.

They have already secured the services of new goalkeeper, Guglielmo Vicario, for £16million from Empoli.

The 26-year-old is the second of Postecoglou’s signings as Spurs manager after the club announced the permanent signing of Dejan Kulusevski following his successful loan spell last season.

The former Celtic boss could have his work cut out for him next season though with star man Harry Kane rumoured for an exit.

Kane was the subject of a £60million bid from Bayern Munich, but it was turned down by the club who value their goalscorer much higher.

But Spurs fans will be pleased to hear they are reportedly edging closer to a deal to bring in attacking reinforcements.

Reports suggest James Maddison is very close to making a £40million switch from Leicester to London and would slot straight into their starting XI.

Without Kane, Spurs would need somebody else playing through the middle, but Son Heung-min has done this before for under previous regimes and could do it again.

Spurs would have to adapt their starting XI without Kane

That would make room on the wing for Harvey Barnes who is another Leicester man looking to escape the Championship after the Foxes’ relegation.

It has been suggested that Spurs are keen on Barnes and even submitted a joint bid for him and Maddison.

But they face competition from North London neighbours Arsenal who are also said to be interested.

Postecoglou’s side might well have a new-look back line too after Tottenham conceded more goals than any other top half team last season.

James Maddison is said to be close to a move to Spurs

Destiny Udogie could slot in at left-back after Spurs signed the 20-year-old last summer from Udinese before loaning him back out to the Italians for the season.

Whilst a centre-back is another top target for Tottenham’s new Aussie boss after Eric Dier had a disappointing campaign last season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, he could be replaced by Wolfsburg youngster Micky Van de Ven.

Van de Ven is said to be keen on the move to the Premier League and a verbal proposal has been discussed.

Spurs are also reportedly interested in Bayer Leverkusen defender Edmond Tapsoba, but he could be a lot more expensive.
