Lionel Messi in huge career change as he enjoys holiday in Argentina before linking up with Inter Miami

LIONEL MESSI has used his time off before joining up with Inter Miami to try his hand at acting.

The Argentinian superstar is having a nice lay-off before jetting over to America.

Lionel Messi plays himself during a brief scene in the TV show

He is expected to join up with Inter Miami soon after his break

The star has penned a mega deal to join the MLS club

And he has now featured in a series called “Los Protectores” which airs in his home country of Argentina.

The show, which is a drama-comedy, follows three football representatives and includes Messi playing himself in the episode.

The 36-year-old gives his best go at acting during the scene on the show which is currently available to watch on Disney+.

The former PSG and Barcelona star is enjoying his last few days of holiday before he begins work in Florida.

Messi shocked the world of football when he announced he would be making the move to the MLS franchise co-owned by David Beckham.

According to The Mirror, Beckham’s co-owner Jorge Mas recently revealed that Messi would be making his debut for the club on July 21.

The Florida club will take on Mexican side Cruz Azul in the 2023 Leagues Cup and the World Cup winner is expected be there.

Messi chose the MLS over other offers including a return to Barcelona or a move out to the Saudi Pro League alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

Barca president Joan Laporta was said to understand Messi’s wishes in a statement released by the Catalan giants.

It said: “President Laporta understood and respected Messi’s decision to want to compete in a league with fewer demands, further away from the spotlight and the pressure he has been subject to in recent years.”
