A POPULAR brand has decided to stop selling cars in Brits’ favourite colour, and it could mean free cash for you.
In an effort to strengthen its position as a “brand of joy, colours, and optimism,” Fiat will stop producing vehicles painted in grey.

From last June 26, the colours in the present and future Fiat line-up are said to be inspired by the Italian Sea, Sun, Earth and Sky.
‘We broke the rules: we decided to stop the production of Fiat grey cars,’ explains Olivier Francois, chief exec and global chief marketing officer at Fiat’s parent group, Stellantis.
But with more than one in four new cars bought in UK dealerships last year grey, Fiat’s decision to stop selling grey-coloured cars may see an increase in demand for older models.
This means that drivers – who own a car in grey – would be able to sell their motor for a higher price.
Richard Evans, head of technical services at webuyanycar comments: “Demand is a key factor in determining a car’s value. When demand for a particular model or colour is higher, drivers may find that it’s price rises accordingly.
“Our research shows that 64% of drivers try to take as much care as possible of their car to ensure it maintains its value.
“Despite grey cars being one of the most popular colours across the UK, Fiats’ decision to stop selling them may see old versions increase in value.
“And, with the cost of living at a high, many drivers may be looking to sell their car to save on costs.
“We’ve seen this happen a number of times when cars have been discontinued. Nostalgia for once-popular cars that are now discontinued drives up demand – and increases their resale value.
“And, with the cost of living at a high, many drivers may be looking to sell their car to save on costs.”
