Man, 28, charged with attempted murder of boy, 2, after toddler found with face and neck injuries

A MAN has been charged with attempted murder after a toddler was found with face and neck injuries.

Lewis Prince, 28, from Manchester, was arrested after police were called to an address in Blackpool on Wednesday.

Emergency services arrived around 8.15am to find the two-year-old boy with injuries.

Prince is due to appear at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court today charged with attempted murder, assault and driving offences.

Lancashire Police said the boy was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

A spokesman for the force said: “We were called around 8.15am yesterday (Wednesday, December 7) to a report of an assault at an address in Brun Grove, Blackpool.

“Officers attended an address with a toddler found with facial and neck injuries.

“He was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged and is back home with his family.

“A 28-year-old man from Manchester was later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is in custody.”
