Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers settle divorce three years after filing

Armie Hammer and his estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers have finalised their divorce, which was set into motion nearly three years ago.

Hammer, 36, and Chambers, 40, were married for 10 years, and announced their separation in July 2020.

In 2021, Hammer was accused of sexual assault, and allegedly sending multiple women graphic text messages about his sexual fantasies, which included mutilation, cannibalism and rape.

Just a few weeks ago, the LA County District Attorney announced Hammer would not be charged for the allegations brought against him.

Chambers revealed earlier this year that Hammer’s actions left her heart “broken in nine million pieces”.

Despite their divorce, Chambers said she and Hammer were still on very good terms.

”We talk all the time,” she said.

“We’re committed fully and wholly to our children, and to being together as much as possible in a non-romantic way for our kids. Kids need their mum; kids need their dad. So there’s nothing we won’t do.”

Hammer has denied being sexually abusive and committing criminal acts, though has admitted in the past he was “one million percent” emotionally abusive to younger women.

On May 31, it was announced Hammer wouldn’t face criminal charges due to “insufficient evidence”.

The star posted a statement to Instagram: “I am very grateful to the District Attorney for conducting a thorough investigation and coming to the conclusion that I have stood by this entire time, that no crime was committed.”

“I look forward to beginning what will be a long, difficult process of putting my life back together now that my name is cleared.”

In an interview with Air Mail in February, Hammer said he obtained consent during every stage of his sexual encounters. “Every single thing was discussed beforehand,” he says. “I have never thrust this on someone unexpectedly. Never,” Hammer said.

Hammer also told Air Mail he had a “very intense and extreme lifestyle.”

“I would scoop up these women, bring them into it – into this whirlwind of travel and sex and drugs and big emotions flying around – and then as soon as I was done, I’d just drop them off and move on to the next woman, leaving that woman feeling abandoned or used,” he told Air Mail.

Chambers and Hammer started dating in 2008 and wed in 2010. They share two children – Harper, seven, and Ford, five.
