A NEW low of sunbed-grabbing tactics has been exposed after a Brit holidaymaker was left stunned at a hotel.
Tourists in recent years have resorted to getting up earlier and earlier in order to put their towels down in a race to bag a prime poolside spot.

Some hotels in a number of popular holiday resorts have even introduced rules in a bid to end the early morning dash to secure a sunbed.
Resort areas such as Camp de Mar in Majorca, Spain, have even kept their pool shut until later in the morning in an effort to curb the growing trend.
However, crafty guests have come up with a way to get around this rule – by placing their towels down on the floor at the entrance to the pool area.
Pictures show towels and beach bags placed in a line leading to the closed-off pool area so guests can secure their spot in the sun the moment the doors are opened.
Holidaymaker Geoff told The Mirror: “In an effort to control the sunbed madness, the door from the hotel to the pool area was kept locked until 8am.
“So people were lining their towels up on the floor in a queue order by the door before it opened. I must add this wasn’t youngsters, but mostly elderly and middle-aged people.”
Geoff, who was staying at a four star hotel in Camp de Mar, added: “The towel line actually went back much further (than the picture shows) and the owners were seated on the sofas just out of sight, ready to fly outside when the door was unlocked.
‘CRAZY BEHAVIOUR’
“I don’t know what time they started, but we were up at 6.30am one morning to grab breakfast before an excursion, and there was already an established towel queue forming at the door. Crazy behaviour.”
Elsewhere, a holidaymaker has hit out at “entitled” tourists who reserve sun loungers and described how he got his petty revenge on them.
Newly-weds Thom Aspland and wife Lisa were honeymooning at the Grand Barong Resort in Bali when they discovered unfurled towels on sun loungers at 6.30am.
The pair returned at around 1pm to find the chairs untouched, they then waited another hour of no movement, before finally ditching the reserved towels and taking the place themselves.
They were then met at 3.30pm by the shocked pair of “entitled” tourists “iPads and books in hand”.
Thom told Yahoo News: “We definitely thought they were entitled, but were surprised they didn’t confront us.”
He said he assumed their lack of confrontation was due to the fact “they knew what they had done”.
‘PETTY’ REVENGE
Thom admitted he and his wife were just being petty in getting on the beds but they just wanted to prove a point.
He said: “We didn’t even want the beds.
“Many places here have an hour rule, so we just made sure we gave them an hour once we got in the pool.”
Speaking about the sun lounger hoggers, Thom said: “They quickly walked towards the chairs, then stopped and looked at each other to pause.
“They then frantically looked for their two personal towels” before departing to their hotel room never to be seen again, he said.
The couple then emphasised their point as when they left they passed the beds on to a mum and daughter after explaining what had happened.
Thom also shared his “petty revenge” tale online with many followers saying that leaving towels on seats all day was “sun hogging” and disrespectful.
One person said: “Am I the only one hoping there’s a day two to this situation.”
A second wrote: “Proof that not all heroes wear a cape. Would shout you both a Bintang if I were there.”
While a third added: “I would’ve done the same except I wouldn’t have waited – if they weren’t there using them its free for all.”
‘KING OF THE SUNBED HOGGERS’
Recently, another holidaymaker described as the “King of the Sunbed Hoggers”, was spotted dashing to dump five towels on poolside loungers at a resort.
The hilarious footage was posted by a TikToker staying at the Paradise Park Hotel, in Los Cristianos, Canary Islands, Spain.
This comes after holidaymakers were filmed queuing up for sunbeds before 8am at a resort in Spain.
In the video, people are seen lining up around the pool, before darting towards the best spots, to make sure they get their towels down.
A mum was also left furious after a sunbed war ended with a stranger stealing her child’s lounger.
