Silva, 28, has been tipped with an exit from the Etihad Stadium this summer and according to The Athletic, his agent Jorge Mendes has been talks over a move to the Middle East.

The Saudi Pro League has already seen an influx of European talent recently with stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema making the move.

While N’Golo Kante, Hakim Ziyech, Wilfried Zaha, Sergio Ramos, Marco Veratti and Roberto Firmino are among the players to have been offered massive contracts to make the switch away from Europe.

And with the news that Silva could be next to be tempted into a move has left fans raging with many claiming that it is “ruining” football.

One tweeted: “Saudi Arabia is ruining football.”

A second wrote: “Saudi are ruining football.”

A third wrote: “I speak for everyone when I say Saudi needs stopped.”

A fourth said: “If Bernardo Silva leaves then I’ll be forced to report Saudi Arabia to Fifa via mail. I can’t watch all these happen in front of my eyes.”

While a fifth added: “Bernardo Silva to Saudi???? They need to stop this.”

While Saudi outfit Al Hilal are close to signing Wolves captain Ruben Neves for £47million, a move for Silva would be the biggest deal so far.

Silva’s contract at City expires in 2025 and has been wanted by the LaLiga side for the last two summer windows.

This would see him join a list of players that have turned down the opportunity including Lionel Messi and Luka Modric.

It is likely that City would demand a big transfer fee for one of their most important players over the last few seasons.

However, the report does add that the Portuguese attacker is likely to reject the move with PSG and Barcelona are also interested in his services.

He made 55 appearances last season for Pep Guardiola‘s side last season and popped up with seven goals and eight assists.
