In tonight’s episode Dot’s coffin was returned to her home – but it left Sonia struggling.
After Jay told Dotty and Whitney about the arrival of Dot’s coffin, the two women knew they had to act.
Rushing to grab Jack, they went over to see Sonia and found her in a bad way.
“I haven’t been able to go in there,” she said as she clutched the record player and the tapes of Dot talking.

“It’s where she belongs,” Sonia added. “I just don’t feel ready to say goodbye.”
Whitney grasped her hand and said: “We’ll do it together.”
“Yeah, grandma would want us all in there together with her,” added Dotty.
Jack led them into the room and became overwhelmed at Dot’s coffin. “She’s home,” said Sonia as she began to sob.
Jack, Dotty and Whitney supported Sonia as they all became emotional at the sight of Dot’s coffin in her living room.
The plaque on her coffin read: “RIP Dorothy Branning 1936-2022”
Viewers are in tears at the scenes.
One wrote: “Oh, Dot. Welling up here. What have you done to us. God bless Dot and June.”
A second said: “EastEnders made me cry again. What an emotional ending.”
Another added: “I’m going to be an emotional wreck in next week’s episodes of Dots funeral.”
