Man Utd in desperate bid to complete transfer for club legend’s sons after both were snapped up by Man City

MANCHESTER UNITED are bidding to nab club legend Darren Fletcher’s twin sons from neighbours City for a “substantial fee”.

Jack and Tyler Fletcher, 16, are rated amongst Britain’s best young talents.

Man Utd technical director Darren Fletcher, seen with manager Erik ten Hag, could soon see sons Jack and Tyler join him at Old TraffordPA

And The Athletic say United asked City about a double deal last week.

The Manchester-born duo can’t turn pro until they are 17 next March.

But it’s claimed there’s already a queue of clubs looking to sign them.

They are said to favour United, where their ex-Scotland star dad is now technical director.

Like Fletcher senior, his sons are central midfielders.

So far they’ve progressed up the ranks with City.

In contrast, their 80-cap father Darren, 39, won the Premier League five times in 12 years with first club United and the Champions League in 2008.

One difference, though, is the choice his sons are making internationally.

Jack has opted for England Under-16s, with Tyler picking Scotland.

And in fact they’ve even locked horns for the Auld Enemies.

United’s interest comes as they try to revive the proud traditions of their academy after seeing City overtake them for producing youngsters.
