PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN have emerged as contenders to sign Harry Kane this summer, according to reports.

The Tottenham star has one year remaining on his contract in North London.

Kane, 29, has shown little indication that he will pen an extension with his boyhood club, putting Europe’s elite on red alert.

The striker is among Manchester United’s top summer targets, and is thought to be open to a move to Old Trafford.

Spurs, if forced into a sale, would rather flog Kane abroad, however.

Real Madrid were linked with a swoop, with manager Carlo Ancelotti wanting to make Kane a “priority”.

But with Kylian Mbappe’s PSG future once again up in the air, Real’s attention could be placed on signing the Frenchman instead.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Kane’s representatives met with PSG transfer chief Luis Campos last month.

The two parties are claimed to have held an informal conversation about the England captain’s future.

PSG are set to reshape their attack this season, with Lionel Messi gone, Neymar up for sale and Mbappe reportedly unwilling to extend his contract beyond 2024.

And Kane would fit the bill as a potential superstar replacement.

Spurs aren’t willing to let him go without a fight, however.

Kane was front and centre as Tottenham launched their 2023-24 home kit last week.

Last month, Spurs’ all-time leading goalscorer spoke about what his side need to do to contend towards the top of the Premier League again.

He told Sky Sports: “The chairman [Daniel Levy] will make a decision on what he thinks is best for the club, in terms of the coach and who he wants to bring in, the players to go and who he wants to bring in.

“I always think you’re never too far away from being competitive with the right people, but also, you’re never too far away from dropping down to 10th or 11th place in the Premier League because that is the standard.

“It’s an important moment for the club, to feel a connection again with the fans, who I know have been frustrated with these moments.

“We need to try to build that relationship back up and try to push all in the same direction.”
