‘I don’t want that’: Hailey Bieber slams fans for leaving nasty comments for Selena Gomez

Hailey Bieber has pleaded with fans to stop leaving “nasty comments” under Selena Gomez‘s social media posts amid their rumoured feud.

In an Instagram Story, the model criticised trolling culture on social media.

“If you’re leaving mean or rude comments on my behalf on anyone’s posts, just know that I don’t want that, nor do I ever or will I ever support or condone hateful, mean, or nasty comments,” the Rhode founder, 26, wrote.

“Doing that is not supporting me. If you are participating in that you are a part of a culture that I want no part of.

“Please be nice or don’t say anything.”

Bieber’s message comes days after Gomez’s recent post became littered with hateful comments.

Though the post simply featured a carousel of photos of the Wizards of Waverly Place star with the caption “Crazy about you paris”, arguments between fans sizzled in the comments section.

Many accused Gomez of being “jealous” of Hailey and her husband, Justin Bieber. Prior to marrying the model, the singer dated Gomez for nearly eight years before they permanently split in 2018.

Others debated the role Gomez has played in widely reported feud between herself and Bieber, one arguing the star “incite[s] a wave of hate towards the girls who date Justin.”

This is not the first time the pair have had to urge their followers and wider social media audience to be kind.

In March 2023, Gomez urged people to be kinder to Bieber in an Instagram Story.

“Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity,” she wrote.

“This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop.”
