But Guardiola’s time at the Etihad may already be running down.

His current contract, signed in November, expires in the summer of 2025.

And The Guardian claims Guardiola, 52, will walk away from City when it eventually ends.

It would see the Spaniard call time on his Etihad adventure after nine years.

But it’s unclear what Guardiola would do next, with international management said to be an option.

When he joined City in 2016, the expectation was that he would spend three years in England before moving to Italy.

Ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss Guardiola was reportedly hoping to become the only manager to win titles in all four major European leagues.

However, it’s reckoned that his plans have “changed.”

And Guardiola is now preparing to step away from City just shy of a decade at the helm.

The fan favourite has won five league titles during his seven seasons in England.

This term’s fightback against Arsenal saw City make it three league wins in a row.

And things got even better for Guardiola as he landed his second FA Cup with victory over Manchester United.

City then capped off a historic season by lifting their first-ever Champions League, becoming only the second English side to complete the Treble.

But supporters could be witnessing the beginning of the end as Guardiola and City eye up a famous Quadruple next season.

Reflecting on his future after signing his last deal in November, Guardiola said: “I am so pleased to be staying at Man City for another two years.

“I can’t say thank you enough at everyone at the club for trusting me. I am happy and comfortable here. I have everything I need to do my job as best as possible.

“I know the next chapter of this club will be amazing for the next decade. It happened over the last 10 years, and it will happen in the next 10 years because this club is so stable.

“From day one I felt something special being here. I cannot be in a better place.

“I still have the feeling there is more we can achieve together and that is why I want to stay and continue fighting for trophies.”
