Forgotten ex-Man Utd star to have Premier League teams queuing up for him after returning to relegated club

ROBERT PAGE reckons Premier League clubs will be queuing up to sign Wales star Dan James.

Relegated Leeds sent the winger out on loan to Fulham this season.

James joined the Yorkshire side in a £30million deal from Manchester United in 2021.

He is due back at Elland Road next week following the Euro 2024 qualifiers with Armenia and Turkey.

And Dragons boss Page is convinced the 25-year-old will be a Prem target.

Page, 48, said: “If I’m a Premier League manager and I find out he’s available, I’d take him.

“I’m bound to say that because I’m his Wales manager but, for me, he always poses a threat.”

James played for Wales at last year’s World Cup but made just two starts for Marco Silva’s Cottagers following Qatar.

The 43-cap star is a regular for Page’s side — and even more so since talisman Gareth Bale retired in January.

Page’s experiment pairing James as a centre-forward with Bale flopped.

The flying wideman is now back to his preferred role on the left flank.

Wales are at a training camp in Portugal as they prepare for Friday’s Cardiff clash with Armenia.

Page added: “Dan took one for the team. It was a frustrating few months for him at centre-forward.

“He’s that option in behind and when you’ve got a tool like that in your armoury, it really is effective.”
