MANCHESTER UNITED have made contact with Chelsea over signing Mason Mount this summer, according to reports.

The Red Devils are looking to bring in the midfielder and have already agreed personal terms with him.

Mount‘s contract at Stamford Bridge expires next summer and he supposedly wants to leave the club after stalling over a new deal.

The 24-year-old was seen looking emotional at the end of Chelsea’s final match of the season last month as he waved goodbye to supporters.

After agreeing his contract with United, it is now down to the two clubs to agree on a fee.

Rumours suggest that Erik ten Hag’s side could launch a bid worth £55million.

However, the Blues are holding out for £70million.

They would prefer Mount to stay but have seemingly accepted they must sell to not lose him on a free next year.

SunSport exclusively revealed that Man Utd could even offer Harry Maguire as part of the package to secure the signing of the 24-year-old.

Mount is currently holidaying with team-mate Ben Chilwell in Spain.

Man Utd are looking to splash the cash this summer and are supposedly keen on Harry Kane and Declan Rice too.

But both are set to cost over £100million.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are set for a squad overhaul after a poor season that saw them finish in 12th.

There could be a number of departures as they look to cut their bloated squad with the likes of Christian Pulisic, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek amongst those expected to leave.
