A PRETTY town in the UK has featured in an award-winning TV show – and it’s so popular US tourists are flocking there to visit.
For years, tourists have been flocking to the UK to visit the real-life places that have inspired blockbuster films and famous TV dramas.

APRichmond recently rose to fame as one of the filming locations used in the TV show Ted Lasso[/caption]
Places like Edinburgh and Gloucester are known for their ties to Harry Potter.
But Richmond, in south-west London, recently rose to fame as one of the filming locations for the hit television show Ted Lasso, which stars Jason Sudeikis.
The award-winning show is all about an American with no football knowledge taking over an English football club because the owner wants to spite her ex-husband.
Thanks to the show’s success, there’s even a Ted Lasso tour to spot all the filming locations, including Paved Court Road which was used as the exterior shot of Ted Lasso’s home.
Actress and tour guide Emmy McMorrow was the first person to run these bespoke tours and has been swamped with bookings from US tourists.
She told the Telegraph: “To a lot of people it’s more than just a show, coming to Richmond is like a pilgrimage.”
Emmy even revealed how some visitors have taken their trips to the extreme.
She recalled how one couple from Minnesota flew overnight to arrive in Richmond the next morning so they could watch the show being filmed.
US holidaymakers have also been raving about the UK town on TikTok too.
In one video, Meg (@msmegcon) posted a video about her day trip to Richmond from central London.
On her visit, she went to the Princes Head, Richmond Green and the several side streets that appear in the show.
The video has had more than 500,000 vires with other visitors sharing their experiences of the town in the comments.
One person wrote: “I just went to Richmond to visit all these places and it was amazing in person.”
A second person added: “I’ve been to all of these and they’re all genuinely so magical.”
While a third person commented: “I literally just got back from there! It was very cute.”
Richmond is a 30-minute train journey away from London Waterloo Station, with tickets costing £11 for a return journey,
And it isn’t just tourists who have enjoyed the town being used as a backdrop for the show, residents also love having their little slice of Hollywood.
Other parts of the UK have also become famous thanks to the film industry.
The Kent town of Margate was featured in the new Hollywood blockbuster Empire of Light, starring Olivia Colman.
