Shoppers rush to buy ‘life-saver’ device that relieves period pains INSTANTLY without drugs

WOMEN have hailed a “life-saving” product that instantly relieves period pains without the need for drugs.

They say it is far more effective than paracetamol or ibuprofen, and a major improvement on the humble hot water bottle.

It also works incredibly quickly – and lasts, according to users.

Myoovi utilises a technology called transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation – or TENS – which uses a mild electrical current.

The impulses reduce the pain signals going to the spinal cord and brain, which relaxes the muscles and reduces discomfort.

Studies show TENS can also stimulate the production of endorphins – the body’s natural painkillers.

Myoovi, which costs £69.99 and is shaped like a butterfly, is completely drug-free, wireless and adjustable, and comes with zero side effects.

It simply attaches to the stomach with sticky gel pads and lasts up to 10 hours on a single charge.

It can then be reused month after month.

A spokesperson for the brand, launched by a Manchester-based start-up, said: “Each month, period pain can cause debilitating cramps so you can’t focus or do normal tasks.

“We know that trying to prevent the pain using painkillers or heat pads isn’t always effective.

“That’s because they don’t prevent pain signals from reaching your brain.

“As UK healthcare experts, we’ve combined the power of TENS pain relief into a small, wireless and portable device hidden under your clothes.

“The result? Soothing, discreet pain relief all day.”

Shoppers have been rushing to buy the “life-saver” in their thousands, with more than 10,000 sold so far.

‘TRULY A LIFE-SAVER’

One person said: “This product is well worth the investment.

“It actually works so well – so no more painkillers or hot water bottles.”

Another wrote on Twitter: “Myoovi is truly a life-saver. Period cramps where? Love it.”

And a third, with endometriosis, said: “I can confirm this is life-changing and since purchasing, I’ve barely removed it.”

Bloggers have also praised the product for its “instant” pain relieving abilities.

Sophie Richards, who goes by @theendospectrum on social media, said: “It’s 100 per cent the best painkiller I’ve found so far.

“It instantly blocks the pain signals in the area it’s on and it’s completely silent and invisible under clothes.”

Myoovi is FDA approved and CE marked.

Its chief executive, Dr Adam Hamdi, came up with the idea after seeing how effective TENS machines were for NHS patients.

He told the BBC he wanted to create a portable, discreet version so people with endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and general period pain could use it anywhere.
