Charles is also known for his collection of plumbing-themed number plates used on the company’s vehicle, worth around £1.5million.

Growing up on a council estate in south London in the 1950s and 1960s, he knew nothing about cars, The Sunday Times reports.

The closest the family came to owning a car was when his father got a job in a factory painting models and brought one home.

After becoming a plumber, he bought an old Morris Minor van for £35 at auction in 1952.

Seven years later, he founded Pimlico Plumbers – and managed to employ around 330 people.

And away from the construction industry, Charlie seems to love his motors.
