A MUM has shared her clever and fun hack to stop her children from burning their mouths on hot chocolate.
TikTok user @kidscraftburn revealed she and her kids have a special Christmas Eve tradition of making the festive treat to enjoy together.
A mum revealed she freezes whipped cream for her hot chocolateTikTok/@kidscraftbarn
Not only does it taste great, but it also ensures your little ones don’t burn their mouthsTikTok/@kidscraftbarn
However, to ensure her little ones don’t scold themselves, @kidscraftburn and the children get inventive.
In a video posted to her account, which has 685,000 plus followers, @kidscraftburn said: “Simple & my kids look forward to doing this each year.”
She then showed their unique way of making the popular beverage.
First, @kidscraftburn reaches for what people often put on top of a hot chocolate – whipped cream.
But instead of following this routine, the mum and her kids fill a cookie cutter with it instead, choosing the festive design of a Christmas tree.
Once the cutter is filled up, they use a knife to smooth it down so that it sits nicely in the mould.
They then pop it into the freezer for up to an hour, or until totally frozen through.
Then it’s time to pop the frozen whipped cream tree into a freshly made hot chocolate.
The result? @kidscraftburn explained: “Watch it melt & cool down your hot chocolate.”
The video then cut to footage of her stirring the whipped cream into the drink so that it was ready to drink straight away.
Her children were equally impressed, as the footage then showed them beaming as they got ready to have their first sip.
And @kidscraftburn’s followers were also interested in the clever hack, and said they had started doing it too.
Not only does the video have 43,000 likes and counting, but it’s also been saved over 8000 times.
One social media user commented: “You’ve helped to make me such a cool, fun mom.”
A second said: “This is really fun and festive.2
While a third added: “Omg! I love it. Trying this tonight with my girls.”
Another joined in the conversation, as they wrote: “That’s a super cute idea.”
While adults without children said it was also a good idea for them too. One said: “Am I a childless adult? Yes. Am I going to use this idea for myself? Also yes.”
